@Michael - Thanks for the feedback. I would encourage you to reach out and engage your industry audience. They will be the most receptive and most likely to start following you. Best of luck!

Hi Mark,

Such an incredible post! You just have opened eyes for me on some things.
I've got one question, which is bothering me.
If our target audience is far from technical circles, such as readers of TechCrunch and other blogs, should we still try to get some attention of technical-oriented audience/startup establishment, so to say? Or as you said, we should better be focused on engaging bloggers from our industry first?

However, technical people are also riding motorbikes (motorbikers is our focus), so they could be a good beginning for closed beta, for example. What do you think?

Thanks for answers beforehand

Thanks for the comments guys. Robert, your comment here certainly proves that you are true to your word and that non-traditional PR efforts can pay off.

Another great article for those of us starting the journey in the great entrepreneur's footsteps. One thing this really caught my attention as I live in Madison was "It opened up our world and made sitting in Madison, Wisconsin not so limiting. ". I'm afraid I have been struggling with this a lot as well. My limitation in Madison boils down to a lot of 8 to 5 people who just want to work and go home. I have been wanting to meet people with like minds, minds that not only want to write code but create something different, look at the big picture. I have to say, they are rear and hard to find. Again, great article on PR.
